Canadian robotics business within Rockwell Automation, supplying configurable outdoor and indoor mobile robots, learning platforms, navigation software and custom integration. The Clearpath research brand serves laboratory and field development; its historically associated OTTO industrial division supplies factory material-handling robots and fleet software. Clearpath Robotics Inc. amalgamated into Rockwell Automation Canada Ltd. in January 2025.
Operating context
Configure the platform and autonomy together. Bare A300 is advertised at 100 kg maximum payload and 2 m/s, whereas AMP’s sensor-equipped configuration is rated at 81 kg maximum and 31.5 kg all-terrain payload. A300 live pages disagree on runtime (8/16/24 versus 4/8/12 hours); AMP lists 6/12/18 hours for 40/80/120 Ah batteries. The A300 manual’s intended-use slope limit is 15 degrees despite a 30-degree catalogue maximum climb. OutdoorNav’s XVN configuration requires RTK corrections, degrades in GNSS-denied conditions and does not detect negative obstacles. Heavy rain/snow and docking transitions have additional constraints. These are configuration-specific limits, not evidence of qualified Arctic or unattended military operation.
Canadian footprint
Clearpath publishes its operating office at 1425 Strasburg Road, Suite 2A, Kitchener, Ontario. The current legal successor, Rockwell Automation Canada Ltd., has its registered office in Cambridge, Ontario. Those addresses establish different operating and legal roles; inspected originals do not establish current Clearpath-only staffing, annual production capacity or the Canadian share of OTTO manufacturing.
Kitchener, Ontario is the published city-level context for Clearpath Robotics. It does not imply a street address or exact facility location.
Clearpath offers a Canadian route to configurable research robots and integration, alongside the associated OTTO industrial material-handling portfolio. Its useful evidence is specific: mature hardware offerings, a custom A200 monitoring deployment, university learning use and named industrial applications. Select and validate the actual platform, sensor/autonomy stack and support arrangement; current legal succession, conflicting runtime tables and GNSS/RTK limits materially affect diligence.
Interpretation of the public record. Not qualification, endorsement or evidence of buyer interest.
Ridgeback and Dingo provide indoor bases for robotics research and mobile manipulation. Ridgeback’s omnidirectional drive carries larger payloads; Dingo offers a compact research platform. Arms, lift columns, perception and IndoorNav are configuration choices rather than standard industrial production-cell qualification.

Configured UGVs can extend environmental or facility monitoring with reduced personnel exposure. The independent A200 example used custom AutoInspect autonomy and sensing; it does not qualify stock AMP, Arctic operations or a military mission.
Which battery, payload, terrain, duty cycle and safety configuration explains the different A300 runtime figures and defines the accepted AMP operating envelope?
Live A300 pages publish different runtime tables, AMP carries lower payload/runtime ratings, and the manual’s intended-use slope is narrower than the catalogue maximum.
02
What localization, communications-loss, obstacle and docking controls are validated for the intended operating site and software version?
OutdoorNav requires RTK in the documented XVN setup, degrades without GNSS and omits negative-obstacle detection; docking transitions require separate safeguards.
03
Which A200, Boxer and configured ROS/software versions remain orderable and supported, and what migration or end-of-support commitments apply?
Current A300 and indoor products coexist with older documentation; the ROS matrix has explicit model/version limits and documentation alone does not establish new-build availability.
