About Clear Seas Research
Clear Seas is a Canadian not-for-profit research institution focused on the human, environmental and economic effects of marine shipping. It develops public research, convenes government, industry and community perspectives, and supports Indigenous research and marine-career pathways.
Its technical work spans vessel traffic and anchorage analysis, emergency-towing capacity, ship-noise modelling with UBC, and structured decisions about marine technologies and fuels. These outputs range from completed public studies and workshop tools to research still developing toward operational use. Clear Seas supplies evidence and convening capacity; the responsible communities, vessel operators and authorities control adoption and implementation.
