How it works
Pathways to Zero-Impact Shipping develops structured methods for comparing marine technologies, fuels and R&D priorities across environmental, operational, social and economic objectives. The June 2026 public report draws on UBC, Clear Seas and NRC collaboration, with CCG and NRC workshops and case studies.
Its practical outputs include a decision framework and a free Excel workshop template that makes preferences, weights and trade-offs visible. Case-study fuel screening is illustrative, not an adopted procurement ranking. The work used third-party Strategyfinder and Alta Viz as well as an in-house spreadsheet; implementation requires suitable input evidence, facilitation, hosting and reuse arrangements.
