Seaspan designs, integrates and builds Coast Guard icebreakers and science vessels. Canada accepted its oceanographic science vessel CCGS Naalak Nappaaluk in November 2025. A separate CAD3.15-billion construction award covers one new polar icebreaker, whose build uses distributed Canadian fabrication and a domestic supplier network.
