Leeway Marine is a Nova Scotia ship owner, operator and manager providing marine support, security and training services, including autonomous surface-vessel capability for complex operations at sea.
Operating context
Leeway Marine provides vessels, marine operations and vessel management for survey, research and defence work. Its ASV Viper role changed in 2026: Inuit-owned Sedna ROV Services became owner and operator in May, while Leeway retained vessel-management responsibility. The June partnership adds IIC Technologies’ hydrographic processing and charting expertise to support Arctic survey work and local training. Viper is configured for multibeam echosounder and sub-bottom profiling; the collaboration is positioned for CHS work rather than a newly announced CHS award. The earlier Transport Canada certification was vessel-specific. ACOA’s separate C$45,000 support funded a strategic roadmap, not construction of a new fleet.
