Operating context
Green Graphite Technologies is moving distinct feedstock routes through pilot and demonstration stages. In April 2026 it reported completing a Rain Carbon project that converted natural flake, recovered battery graphite and production scrap into coated spherical purified graphite at pilot scale, followed by battery-suitability testing. The C$2.05 million project included C$682,000 from OVIN. Separately, NRCan announced C$4.75 million for a Nelson–Mississauga demonstration using Weaver Energy's quarry material and a two-step process with a continuous electric furnace. These activities broaden the evidence behind GraphPure and GraphRenew while remaining different from commercial-scale qualified supply. The Shepherd Chemical collaboration is an exploratory MOU, and GGT's stated 2029 commercial-plant objective remains forward-looking.
