About General Fusion
Canadian energy-technology company developing magnetized-target fusion systems and associated advanced engineering.
Operating context
General Fusion is developing magnetized-target fusion through its LM26 demonstration programme. LM26 forms and compresses plasma with a lithium liner; reported heating to approximately 0.72 keV precedes the planned 1 keV, 10 keV and Lawson-criterion milestones. The July 2026 business combination and Nasdaq listing are completed corporate events, while commercial power generation remains a development objective. The company reported approximately US$150 million in cash on entering the public markets and expects that capital to support planned LM26 work through the end of 2028. Its stated first-of-a-kind plant timing of approximately 2035 is a forecast. The near-term industrial opportunity is therefore in diagnostics, precision engineering and development supply chains rather than purchasing an operating fusion plant.
