How it works
The RCN programme shows Kraken working as a prime integrator across a mine-countermeasure system. The original 2022 announcement combines AquaPix-equipped REMUS autonomous vehicles for searching with SEAFOX mine-disposal systems and SH Defence’s containerized command and handling modules. It also describes an initial five-year integrated logistics support programme with options for equipment, spares, training and technical support.
That system-of-systems description is useful for understanding where the partners fit. It is not a current delivered-equipment inventory. CanadaBuys records a June 11, 2026 reduction of C$12.154 million to the acquisition contract and a total of C$33.690 million, with expiry in December 2028. The entry does not explain the final quantities or acceptance status. The original scope, amended contract value and equipment actually accepted by the Navy therefore need to remain distinct.
