How it works
HYDRO+ is CSMC’s lunar resource-processing concept using integrated gas reduction to release oxygen bound in metal oxides. It aims to handle different ores and lunar geological regions, with oxygen and water among the intended useful products. CSA awarded C$499,647 for prototyping in 2023, and CSMC includes HYDRO+ in its 2026 lunar architecture work; public descriptions do not quantify demonstrated yield, throughput or process energy.
