How it works
Burloak offers hot isostatic pressing (HIP), stress relief, solution annealing and age hardening as part of its post-processing chain. Quintus documented deployment of a QIH 60 M URC press at Burloak in 2021. The supplier specifies a 410 by 1,000 mm hot zone, maximum temperature of 1,400°C and maximum pressure of 207 MPa; these are equipment limits, not a validated recipe or acceptance envelope for every part.
The thermal route can be integrated with precision machining and materials verification after additive manufacture. Kinectrics describes that combination in its hydraulic-manifold demonstration, providing a concrete application beyond an equipment list. Burloak currently advertises Nadcap-accredited heat treatment, but the applicable current process specification, alloy, load configuration and customer approval need confirmation. A buyer should establish the required thermal cycle and test evidence, then confirm availability and lot traceability with the Oakville team.
