How it works
Acrolab engineers thermal systems for aerospace composite tooling and other industrial processes. Its packages can combine thermal analysis and simulation with heaters, sensors, Isobar heat pipes, insulation, platens, controls and electrical integration. The company describes feasibility and design work followed by client approval, manufacture, testing and support.
Isobar is a sealed heat-pipe system: a working fluid evaporates in a hot region, condenses in a cooler region and returns through a wick. Straight, baffled, finned and stepped configurations adapt heat distribution to the tool. Acrolab states a standard 50–500°F range and approximately ±1°C lengthwise uniformity, with special low-temperature designs available. These are product descriptions whose applicability depends on the chosen material, fluid and installation.
Isoplaten embeds a matrix of heat pipes in a platen and offers electric, oil, water or steam heating, integral water cooling, and usually one thermocouple or RTD control zone, with multizone options. Its published standard range is −60°C to 250°C. The page's inconsistent ±1°F and ±1°C surface-uniformity statements need resolution in a project specification. Conventional multizone platens are a separate configuration.
Isomandrel distributes localized induction or resistive heat along a filament-winding mandrel for curing at the winding station without a separate oven. The company describes steel or Monel construction, optional water cooling and usually infrared temperature measurement, with an ambient-to-650°F standard range. A separately documented mandrel-in-oven project instead combines film compaction, controlled oven curing and mechanical extraction. These alternatives should be selected and tested as distinct process-tool arrangements.
For composite molds, Acrolab's June 2021 account reports scaled prototypes exploring both direct heating and passive redistribution of autoclave heat, followed by customer experiments. It is a useful example of development work, rather than a published production-acceptance result.

Use & integration
Recorded applications
- Aerospace composite processing
- Industrial thermal-process development
These describe the reviewed application scope, not confirmed deployments, released requirements or procurement eligibility.
Evidence of maturity
Commercial thermal-engineering services with supplier-reported composite-tool projects and scaled prototype experiments. The 2024–25 IRAP contribution supports a separate high-temperature heat-pipe development project; its record does not establish a qualified outcome or production acceptance.
Commercial availability
Custom product and project enquiries are handled through Windsor. Feasibility, tooling interfaces, thermal cycle, control design and acceptance testing are established with the customer before the configuration is built and delivered.
