About Space Engine Systems
Space Engine Systems is an Edmonton aerospace company describing reusable multi-fuel propulsion and air-breathing engine technology for spaceplane and hypersonic research applications.
Operating context
AIAA's high-speed propulsion review reports Space Engine Systems ground testing in July and August 2025 at its Villeneuve Airport facility near Edmonton. The account distinguishes precooler-enabled turbojet operation up to Mach 3 and simulations to Mach 5 from full-scale ramjet ground tests sustaining hydrogen combustion for up to 30 seconds. Work addressed transition throttling, thrust coefficients, flameholding and a variable-throat nozzle. This is materially stronger ground-test context than an old flight schedule, but it does not demonstrate completed hypersonic flight or reusable spaceplane service.
