Research Manitoba is Manitoba's provincial research agency, funding and coordinating research and innovation intended to improve economic, health, social and environmental outcomes.
Operating context
Research Manitoba supports provincial research and commercialization, with an active fall Innovation Proof-of-Concept intake from September 8 to November 3, 2026. Its two-year funding streams distinguish industry-matched Manitoba consortia, eligible for up to $150,000, from post-secondary commercialization and Manitoba-based independent industry, each eligible for up to $100,000. During the current application-system transition, applicants must use the revised downloadable forms and submission directions instead of the Grant Management System. Fall awards are anticipated in May 2027. The agency separately announced matching support for ten CFI projects in August and nine IPoC awards in June; those awards do not guarantee a new applicant funding.
