Operating context
McMaster Automotive Resource Centre provides an industrial research setting for electrified vehicles, electric machines, power electronics, energy systems and autonomous mobility at McMaster Innovation Park in Hamilton. The university's May 2026 account describes a 90,000-square-foot purpose-built facility working with automotive manufacturers, SMEs and technology startups. McMaster and the NRC announced that the Southern Ontario Innovation Hub would be established at MARC, bringing their expertise and infrastructure together to accelerate vehicle development, testing and commercialization. The battery research group separately identifies facilities at MARC and on the main campus; they should not be treated as one interchangeable test location. The announced hub is a collaboration pathway, while test availability, project acceptance, equipment limits and commercial terms require facility-level scoping.
