Operating context
Institut quantique at Universite de Sherbrooke offers two distinct routes into quantum research: AlgoLab for algorithms and computational collaboration, and FabLab for experimental materials, devices and related services. AlgoLab combines specialist support with cloud access to systems including IBM Quantum and Pasqal, so the processor-access route should not be confused with local hardware ownership. Its June 2026 summer school provided training in fault tolerance, algorithms and error correction and has now concluded. An industrial collaborator should define the computational or experimental question, required expertise, access arrangement and IP terms before assuming commercial readiness. Published research infrastructure establishes a collaboration opportunity, not a demonstrated quantum advantage for a proposed defence problem.
