About Genesis
Genesis is a Newfoundland and Labrador technology-startup hub affiliated with Memorial University, offering founder education, customer-validation cohorts, ongoing membership and venture-scale residency support.
Operating context
Genesis supports founders building technology ventures in Newfoundland and Labrador through a staged program ladder. Its current Evolve offering is a seven-week, in-person customer-validation sprint for early ideas, designed to determine the problem, customer and willingness to pay before committing to product development. The published fee is C$200, with students admitted free. Ongoing Membership provides coaching, a founder community and workspace options; Residency is an invite-only track within Membership for ventures pursuing rapid growth. These current names and mechanics replace the older Evolution and Enterprise descriptions still visible in historical partner material. The fall Evolve page lists a September 21 application deadline and October 8 start, with Thursday evening sessions. A founder should choose between validation and ongoing company-building support based on customer evidence rather than assume admission to one program automatically includes investment or a place in Residency.
