Foundation Space Resources develops an integrated lunar simulation environment for mission planning and engineering design. Existing functions cover terrain, line of sight, illumination and three-dimensional shadows. Its CSA-funded expansion targets additional environmental models, including space weathering and meteoroid impact risk, as well as more efficient simulation and eventual on-rover deployment. These capabilities could help teams compare landing sites, hardware designs and navigation strategies before flight. CSA’s C$252,648 contribution runs from August 2025 through February 2027 and explicitly supports technology maturation. The distinction matters: the project is advancing a planning tool, not evidence of a completed lunar deployment or validated onboard autonomy.
