Operating context
Memorial University’s Fisheries and Marine Institute combines applied ocean research, marine simulation, technical training and industry collaboration. At Holyrood, The Launch provides a cold-ocean living laboratory with a Marine Autonomous Systems Testbed, Remote Operations Centre, Holyrood Subsea Observatory and SmartAtlantic infrastructure. ACOA confirms its March 2024 NATO DIANA test-centre designation. The facilities offer a route to demonstration and validation in near-Arctic conditions; designation does not certify every product tested there. Prospective users should scope the test environment, instrumentation, vessel support and access arrangements with the institute.
