About David Florida Laboratory
Canada's spacecraft assembly, integration and environmental testing centre supporting satellites, spacecraft components, telecommunications and remote-sensing missions from Ottawa.
Operating context
The David Florida Laboratory is a Canadian Space Agency-owned, MDA Space-operated spacecraft assembly, integration and environmental-test centre. Its fair-access policy provides non-discriminatory, fee-based third-party access assessed for technical feasibility, resources, safety and regulatory compliance. CSA's 2026–2028 Accessibility Plan describes continued licence occupation for testing and a planned property transfer by 2030, with CSA responsible for accessibility until disposal or licence expiry. This is a future property plan, not evidence that ownership has transferred or that the June 2025 occupancy licence has been renewed. Public test enquiries go to DFL@mda.space.
