About Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing
Applied research and technology centre supporting advanced manufacturing, automation, robotics, design, digital production and industrial prototyping for Canadian industry.
Operating context
Sheridan's Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing gives industrial partners a route to applied automation, robotics, digital fabrication and inspection work. Its project record includes Mircom fire-prevention controller assembly and testing in November 2025, robotic visual inspection with A. Berger Precision, and an Acrebot harvesting prototype. These examples establish experience in integrating vision, mechanical design and robot control, with outcomes scoped to the individual research projects. An engagement starts through the partnership intake form, a scoping call and matching faculty expertise; proposal approval and a collaborative research agreement precede the work. SONAMI identifies CIM, formerly CAMDT, as a network member. Potential research funding can be explored during scoping; equipment access, intellectual-property terms, project timing and any security requirements need agreement for each engagement.
