Operating context
CARDD-Tech is an industry-led research centre in the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Engineering that brings primes, Canadian SMEs, OEMs, academics and government users into collaborative research, development, testing and evaluation. Themes include advanced manufacturing and materials; RF, optical and inertial sensing/navigation; cyber and AI; robotics and autonomy; space and hypersonics; quantum; and resilient energy. The centre describes more than $20 million in projects in development, which indicates its collaboration pipeline rather than contracted revenue or delivered equipment. Facility access, research-security conditions and partner contributions depend on the proposed project.
