Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions is accepting applications to its Regional Defence Investment Initiative. Quebec proposals must show how the project responds to current or future needs of the Canadian Armed Forces, NATO or an allied country; the regional emphasis is SME growth, productivity and defence supply-chain capacity. Selected expert organizations may receive support for intensive services to SMEs, subject to the program's conditions. The February 2026 project backgrounder records $33,653,792 for twenty-eight Quebec projects, establishing actual announced activity rather than merely a policy ambition. Those contributions do not guarantee funding to a new applicant and are distinct from procurement contracts. Applicants should approach CED with the investment plan, financing and specific customer-need evidence before assuming costs or timing are eligible.
