Operating context
Alberta Innovates is Alberta's provincial innovation agency, funding research and providing expertise, facilities and commercialization support to researchers, entrepreneurs and industry. Its published program portfolio includes Ecosystem Development Partnerships Program. Its ADAMM portfolio targets aerospace, defence, advanced materials and manufacturing commercialization. The Strategic Industries Technology and Knowledge Development grant currently has continuous open intake for technology readiness levels 3–7: applicants begin with the relevant portfolio contact, then an expression of interest in SmartSimple and, if invited, a detailed proposal. Detailed eligibility says applicants may be outside Alberta if they demonstrate provincial benefit, despite the page's simplified Alberta-based tag.
