AMS provides naval architecture, production engineering and refit support through AVEVA and ShipConstructor models and shipyard-aligned information packages. Structural, piping, equipment, HVAC and electrical models progress from design assessment to production detail. Outputs include assembly drawings, pipe spools, arrangements, cable layouts and supports, organized to suit the yard's build strategy and client or regulatory deliverables.
For existing vessels, surveys and 3D scans recover as-fitted geometry, supported by photographs, measurements and review with ship personnel. That baseline informs life-extension structural work, equipment integration and installation drawings. AMS's reported 2022 Davie work on CCGS Louis S. St. Laurent included modelling twelve replacement pumps, modifying pipe routes and foundations, and preparing spool and assembly packages. Valve actuation, power/control cabling and updated fire-system drawings illustrate the connected mechanical and electrical work.
The practice also describes AVEVA implementation, training, consulting and licences. Company project accounts include Joint Support Ship production-model support, Coast Guard survey and refit assignments, and commercial barge engineering. The 2026 Kongsberg Vanguard LP project adds a government-confirmed joint-venture design award: SALT says AMS is assisting detailed development into a contract-design package for shipyard quotations for up to six Coast Guard mid-shore multi-mission vessels. This is a design and integration role, with ship construction separate.
