Operating context
The Waterloo Accelerator Centre is a Canadian not-for-profit accelerator founded in 2006. Its staged programs provide milestone-based mentorship, commercialization support and investor introductions without taking equity, while its Aerospace Accelerator adds Waterloo airport testing access for selected ventures. AC:Studio adds a cash-matched venture-studio route for eligible Southern Ontario early-stage technology companies aligned with a UN Sustainable Development Goal. Cohort 3 has two nine-month phases: 23 ventures receive $30,000 in matched funding, and seven can progress to an additional $70,000. Applications are currently closed; the maximum funding is conditional on selection, progression and cash matching.
