How it works
SolarSteam develops modular solar-thermal equipment using concentrating mirrors within a transparent enclosure, automated single-axis tracking and remote controls that can integrate with building management systems. Its current development pathway also includes data-centre cooling: NRC support addresses integration with evaporative coolers, while a July 2026 NCSR Demokritos collaboration uses a digital twin to evaluate solar-driven cooling under different operating and weather conditions. These are development and evaluation activities; the published below-500°C industrial-heat vision is not a verified operating envelope.
