How it works
SCoTSS combines gamma-ray survey, isotope identification and source localization with Compton imaging and an optical overlay. The published NRC/NRCan design uses solid-scintillator arrays with silicon photomultiplier readout; modules can be combined for different sensitivity and size requirements. NRC's 2026 CANSEC material identifies Radiation Solutions as a commercialization partner, while the detailed published tests describe historical instrument configurations.
