The stated scope is a scalable kinetic interceptor system. This is the clearest current government description of SHIELD and establishes the team and evaluation context.
Previously captured North Vector material used the SHIELD name for a VTOL counter-UAS design. The reviewed sources do not establish that the older design is the configuration entered with CMP in the 2026 Sandbox. Its airborne sensing, launch and propulsion attributes should therefore not be assigned to the current entry. The useful next discussion concerns the offered configuration, each team's integration responsibilities and the results produced through evaluation.
